In an effort to raise awareness for the upcoming inauguration, NFL fans are making their own billboard in the form of a giant Lincoln monument, a popular image of the NFL star that stands tall in the middle of the road.
The new Lincoln billboard in New York City features a large mural of a smiling Lincoln in the center of a field with the words “Lincoln is Dead” above the image of an image of a burning American flag.
The billboard, which was erected at New York’s Times Square, has a capacity of 7,000 people, according to the New York Post.
The Lincoln Project, a nonprofit organization that creates Lincoln-themed billboards in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida and Washington state, will make a total of 1,000 Lincoln-related projects this year, according the organization’s website.
The organization, which is headquartered in New Brunswick, New Jersey and operates a billboard shop in Lincoln, New Hampshire, also has a program in place to sell the Lincoln-shaped banners.
