A mother has been forced to put up a sign that reads “I’m Not a Racist” in order to keep her daughter quiet.
The sign, which was first reported by the Daily Mail, was displayed in her front garden at the family home in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
“I’ve been having a hard time since the news came out about her, but I’m so proud of her,” Katie said.
Katie said the sign “really does make me feel like a racist”.
“But it’s something I’ve always done and I don’t like being told to do things that I’m not allowed to do,” she said.
“I want my daughter to be comfortable with herself.”
Katy said she’s had to put on the sign and that she would still have to keep it up even if her daughter wasn’t in the room.
I’m so grateful that my daughter has had a better experience at school than I am.
I’m proud of them, and that they are proud of me.
However, Katie said she had been forced by the school to put it up, even though the sign says she’s not a racialist.
She said she thought about putting it up when she saw the picture of the sign, but thought she should leave it up because she didn’t want to “create drama”.
Katies husband David, who is white, said the parents have tried to make their daughter feel “different” by putting up the sign in front of her room.
“We’ve been very clear about it being a non-offensive sign,” he said.
“But she’s been in there every day, and we’ve tried to get her to be more comfortable.”
I just don’t think we’ve been able to get them to feel comfortable.
“David said the school had tried to push Katie to change the sign to one that said “I can’t be racist”.”
She just wants to be able to go to school,” he added.
David and Katie have been married for 15 years.
On Tuesday, Katie and David shared a photograph of their daughter, who now attends Leeds Academy, with a sign stating: “My daughter is not a black racist”.’
We are living in an incredibly dangerous society’A spokeswoman for Leeds Academy said the principal had been made aware of the situation and had instructed the school’s management to “remove the sign”.
She added that the school was “currently assessing its procedures for dealing with this type of situation”.”
This type of incident has never happened at the school before and is not an isolated incident,” the statement said.
Katie’s parents are not seeking any compensation for the sign.”
They are just trying to find out what the school is doing,” Katie’s mother said.
