A billboard created in New York in 2015 has gone viral, garnering praise from some and ridicule from others.
The billboard, which features a photo of a young girl with a sign reading “we are not peaceful”, has received millions of views on Facebook and Twitter, sparking a debate about the use of billboards.
The girl is depicted with a young, blonde boy in the background.
It is the second year the billboard has been put up in New Mexico, and has received thousands of comments from viewers.
The young girl in the billboard is wearing a long-sleeved shirt with a large star, a black belt and a black ribbon.
The other young girl is wearing an open-topped coat.
The poster behind the billboard says the image is of a “peaceful” girl and is a result of her father’s life experience.
The sign says “we, not peace”.
The billboard has gained millions of impressions on social media, garnerting praise from the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, who has praised it as “a message of peace and love” and “a reminder of the beauty of New Mexico”.
The billboards campaign, which was launched by Teksha Goseey, is the latest in a string of efforts to get younger people to rethink their views on the use and impact of billboards and to take a stand against them.
The campaign has been dubbed “We Are not a Nation Of Peace”.
A group of young people in New Jersey called “We are Not a nation, we are just a city” launched a similar campaign in January to raise awareness of the billboards campaign.
The group’s slogan, “We don’t have to fight to be who we are, we just have to have the courage to speak up”, has garnered millions of followers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Gosees campaign has received support from celebrities including Rihanna, Rihanna and Beyonce, and is also featured in several other videos.

The group has also been featured on a campaign to promote awareness of global warming and in the documentary ‘The Last Song’ about the plight of children.
“It is a testament to Tekshi’s work that she and the group behind this billboard campaign have managed to achieve such a great result,” Kapoor said in a statement.
Teksashi Gosenye has become one of the most popular billboards artists in New Zealand.
He has won multiple advertising awards and a number of accolades for his work.
He is also known for his music videos.
Tekeshas first billboard was placed on New Zealand’s Central Coast in 2008.
The New Zealand Herald reported the billboards success in March 2017.
Goseny has also created murals for the Auckland Museum and is working on another billboard campaign for the New Zealand city of Hamilton.
TeKashi Gossey has won awards for his works, including the New York City Advertising Awards in 2009, the New Jersey Advertising Awards and the New Mexico Advertising Awards.
He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his performance in the 2016 documentary ‘A Prayer to All My Boarders’ about an artist who creates art that challenges the status quo.
Gossys work is widely acknowledged as one of New Zealands most distinctive artists.
In 2018, he received the prestigious James F. Moore Award for Emerging Artist at the New School of Art.
The award is given annually to artists who have “dramatically and dramatically changed the landscape of New York art.”
