A Washington, D.C., law firm has found that Donald Trump’s statement on Monica Lewinski’s suicide may have led to her suicide.
The article claims that Donald’s tweet that Monica’s suicide was the result of her having a sex life with President Barack Obama caused her to “take her own life.”
Lawyer Jeffrey Cohen, who represented Monica’s family, said the tweet was a “dangerous” distraction to the Lewinsky scandal and “a terrible tragedy” for the Lewinsons family.
The tweet, which was sent on January 6, 2008, is now the subject of a defamation suit against the president.
Trump has denied the claim, calling it a “fantasy” and saying the tweet itself was not intended to be taken seriously.
The Lewinson’s son has since released a statement saying he was “very saddened” to learn of Monica’s death.
